Deb Yurick's Quick French Bread
Deb's Quick French Bread
The recipe:
Use your stand mixer...
Put 2 1/2 cups hot water into bowl
Add:
1 Tbls. sugar
1 Tbls. salt
2 Tbls. yeast
1-3 Tbls. butter or oil
Mix until all dissolved. Let yeast proof. When it starts to bubble up, add 7 cups flour.
Put mixer on speed #2 for 3 minutes (this takes care of the kneading).
Roll bread dough in oil and cover bowl for approx. 20 minutes. Dough should double in size.
Cut dough in half. Form loaves into long French bread shape or into balls, score the tops of the loaves. Place on cold pizza stone.
Put loaves on stone into COLD oven. Set oven for 400 and set timer for 30-35 minutes. Cool on wire rack. ENJOY!!
Great with soup or as french toast!
Thanks, Deb!
